Modular LED Headlight & Fog Light Technology Becomes Industry Standard to Cut Repair & Upgrade Cost

Leading global automotive LED supplier Lumileds released updated modular LED lighting solutions for headlight and fog light on Feb 2026, accelerating modular lamp popularization across the whole aftermarket lighting industry. Industry forecast shows modular LED headlight modules will cover half of global vehicle lamp design projects by 2027, greatly simplifying production, aftersales replacement and spare part management for global lamp manufacturers and distributors.
Traditional integrated LED headlight assembly usually costs thousands of US dollars for single replacement, accounting for nearly 8% of vehicle whole value; modular split-type LED headlight and fog light design cuts maintenance cost by over 40% by changing damaged single LED unit instead of full lamp set, fully complying with UN ECE R148 international vehicle lighting regulation.
North American aftermarket brand Flashtech launched its F5 series modular LED bulb system this March, covering universal LED headlight and fog light bulb specifications with only two core SKUs, solving long-standing multi-model inventory pressure for global auto parts retailers and installers. This modular design trend also spreads to LED grille light development; new split LED grille strip reduces customization cycle for modified grille lighting by 35% and improves heat dissipation performance in high-temperature engine compartment environment.
